Limequats are a hybrid of two kinds of citrus: key limes and kumquats. The result is the small size of a kumquat and the marvelous flavor of a lime. The fruits can be used for juice or zest at any point in their maturity from lime green to lemon yellow, the only difference being a little less tartness as they mature.
Limequat trees are very small. Ours was planted back in 2012 and is only about four feet tall. With its small size and almost year-round productivity, it’s hard to beat a limequat for the home grower.
