EG-D-8 — Jaboticaba (Coronada)

EG-D-8 is a Coronada jaboticaba, obtained at the 2012 Manatee Rare Fruit Council tree sale. It has a complex history. First it was in a pot for a while, then planted in 2016. It failed to thrive, and in early 2017 we pulled it up and found a very poor root structure. We replanted it, after extensive root pruning, and it has done much better, with its first significant fruiting in early 2018. The fruit is smaller than the Sabara, and has a distinct cherrylike flavor.
