NW-G-1 — Carambola (Kary)

Kary is an excellent variety of carambola. The sweet and flavorful fruit ripens to a light orange color. The tree is productive and attractive. Ours was acquired in 2012. Partially shaded by an oak tree, it’s been a slow grower, but produced in commercial quantities in the winter of 2017. We are thinning the fruit more vigorously this year, and expect a crop of large, sweet fruit this coming fall.
