This Fwang Tung carambola was grafted by Wayne Clifton and planted in November of 2015. A prolific bearer, its fruit is large and pale yellow. The flavor is sweet and somewhat delicate. It is a vigorous grower, and we pruned aggressively to improve its branch structure.
Most of the 2017 crop was lost in Hurricane Irma, but a small crop came along in January. We will thin vigorously this year, and expect a crop of large, sweet fruit in late 2018.
