SW-K-3 — Peach (Tropic Beauty)

Tree SW-K-3 is a Tropic Beauty peach tree, obtained from Pine Island Nursery in the spring of 2014. After a bit of a slow start, it’s produced a nice crop in May, 2018.

In general, Florida peaches are a bit smaller than the Georgia varieties, but they have the same rich, sweet, classic peach flavor. And there’s nothing to compare with a fresh local peach ripened on the tree.

We prune our peach trees very aggressively to maintain a size convenient for bagging or bird netting, which are usually necessary to get good peaches in Florida’s subtropical climate. Also, electric poultry netting, seen on the left, keeps raccoons and possums from stealing your dessert!
